SUMMARY:Chinese American Business and Network Group
DESCRIPTION:Chinese American Business Network Group'CABANG' pronounced 'chabanin' in Chinese has a meaning of embranchment: a branching out\, as of a mountain range or river. This primary focus of this group is to learn Mandarin Chinese and the Chinese business culture. The group will also feature a speaker approximately 3 times per 10-week session. Speakers are CEO's\, Chinese business owners and government officials. The CABANG group will also include optional field trips to Chinese-owned businesses and restaurants\, but will not interfere with class time. The club is also meant to serve as a networking group to enable special access to Chinese organizations and businesses. Lan Jin (Jin lao shi) is our Chinese language and cultural instructor. She earned a B.A. degree from Shanghai Int'l Business College\, Shanghai University majoring in English and marketing. She is currently working on an M.B.A at Governors State University. Lan Jin has worked for a few companies since coming to the U.S. in the business and computing fields. Since completing her teaching certification program at National Louis University\, she has taught Chinese language classes at a local community college and at both private and public schools to K-12 students. She has also provided private language and culture training to individuals from pre-school students to adults.
