Senior Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago


Scott A. Brave is a senior policy economist in the economic research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. His chief responsibilities include the releases for the Chicago Fed's National Activity, Midwest Economy and Financial Conditions Indexes and its Survey of Business Conditions. Brave received a B.A. in economics with honors from the University of Chicago and an M.B.A. with concentrations in economics, statistics and finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.


David Harris
Director of Illinois Department of Revenue


David Harris serves as the director of the Illinois Department of Revenue. Prior to becoming Director, Harris had served two separate stints in the Illinois House from 2011 - 2018, and also from 1983 to 1993. He had served as a member of the House Revenue & Finance Committee for all 18 of his legislative years and for 8 years as the Republican spokesman on the Committee.  He also served for 8 years as the Spokesman on the Appropriations -General Services Committees. He has in-depth experience of state revenue and appropriations issues.  Harris’ experience also includes serving as senior vice president of the Illinois Hospital Association, Adjutant General (Commanding General of the National Guard) for the state of Illinois, and deputy director and chief of staff of the U.S. State Department’s Iraq Reconstruction Management Office, overseeing $18 million in reconstruction funding.

David will follow up by discussing how conducting business in Illinois will be affected under the Governor Pritzker Administration from the perspective of Illinois Department of Revenue’s Director Harris.
