Preparing for Disaster: Protecting Your Family, Business, and Employees Immediately Following a Natural or Manmade Disaster
Is your family ready to shelter in place for days if needed? Is your business ready to survive an incident that causes your facility to become unusable? Will your employees be able to come to work without worrying about their families? Statistics show that roughly 40 to 60 percent of small businesses never reopen their doors following a disaster and 90% of companies fail within a year unless they can resume operations within five days. Having a specific plan will keep your family safe and allow your business and employees to resume operations in a reasonable amount of time.
Retired police officer and Emergency Management Coordinator with Homeland Security, John Nebl, will give an impactful, interactive, show and tell presentation that will provide useful information on how to establish a lifeline to staying in business and prepare your family to care for themselves during the first 72-hours after a natural disaster or human caused incident.
John Nebl is an Emergency Management Coordinator with the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. John retired in December 2014 after a 29-year career as a police officer. He was the Community Relations Sergeant and Public Information Officer for the Schaumburg Police Department from 2007-2014.
