Topic: Empowering Professionals....Enriching Lives
The need for professional counseling services in Illinois has never been greater. In a time when youth and families need reconciliation and guidance government funds are in short supply. Recognizing this need, a group of eight past-presidents of the Illinois Counseling Association joined together in 2003- with their hearts, minds, and funds - to form the Illinois Counseling Association Foundation. By funding professional development, research, and social programs, the Foundation is able to make a significant impact on the availability of well trained, professional counselors who are working to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Illinois.
Since establishing as a non-profit in 2005, the Illinois Counseling Association Foundation has distributed $107,452.00 to ICA members: benefiting 23 individuals, a chapter twice, a division twice, an agency, a university, and the Leadership Development Academy in 2009, 2011, and 2013. These funds are comprised of tax deductible, charitable contributions made to the Foundation.
Featured speakers include; Illinois Counseling Association Foundation Board Member, Dr. Dale J. Septeowski, Chair, Counseling Department, Argosy University and Amy Rasing, Executive Director. You will also hear from two of the Foundation’s grant recipients whose work impacts the greater Schaumburg community; Guiding Light Counseling Services and Dr. Maricruz Ramos, a professional counselor working with multicultural programs.
