Could one pill lead to an opioid addiction?

The opioid epidemic is the most significant public health and public safety crisis facing Illinois. The health care system has been overwhelmed by the opioid epidemic. As we begin to understand its true impact, patients and loved ones are left with more questions than answers about opioid medications and its effects on our community. As we transition from opioid epidemic awareness to action, health care providers are trying to continue to care for the community while maintaining safety.

Brad Gerke sobriety date is 9-14-2010 and has been working in the field of addiction recovery for 8 years and currently serves as the Director of Operations at Banyan Chicago. Brad is heavily involved in the local recovery community, advocating for those in need of resources. He is a DuPage County HOPE Taskforce Appointee and works closely with the Naperville Connect for Life program, a number of 501c3 foundations, and joins state legislature for various round tables and started a sober home that is still running today. Additionally, Brad speaks publicly at community forums, recovery events, facilitates family events, and gives presentations at local high schools and colleges where he provides information, education, and resources on addiction and recovery.
