Leadership Luncheon-Perform on the X- How to Meet Any Challenge with Courage, Confidence, and Readiness

Perform on the X- How to Meet Any Challenge with Courage, Confidence, and Readiness

  1. “Respond Vs React!” It is easy to lead and perform during calm seas, but true leadership competence and professional capability is revealed during times of challenge and stress.  Attendees with learn the importance of being more deliberate and intentional in preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.  To “respond” to challenges with clarity and poise rather than just “react” and hope for the best .
  2. “Be brilliant on the basics.”  In today’s environment, our bandwidth is constantly being stretched by distractions and constant firefighting.  When we aggregate the right habits and routines and when we have a systematic method for how we plan, prepare, and execute we can become incredibly focused and efficient.  The audience will learn how to apply focus to the things that really move the needle-things that really matter.
  3. Mental Fitness. Showing up as your best self, as a leader, as a professional, and even as a parent requires poise, confidence, and focus during challenging times.  The audience will learn mental skills such as sport psychology techniques that pro athletes and military special operators use to perform at their best under pressure.
  4. The importance of self and situational awareness.  As professionals, we should have a solid game plan before we go into high-stakes or simply stressful situations.  Equally important is the need to be attentive to the environment and the people in it and know when to pivot and adjust the game plan to serve what is best in that exact moment and situation.
  5. Variable focus. Whether leading a team or facing a customer, being able to shift your focus is essential in seeing every detail that matters.  It means ensuring that as leaders, we can gain some cognitive distance and objectivity in a high-stress situation and avoid being captured by the chaos.  It means being able to detect if a customer is tracking and on board with what you are saying and how to adjust if not.
