RISE Lecture Series: Opportunities for Growth and Change in a Post Covid Era
Dean of Roosevelt University's Heller College of Business Glen Brodowsky presents the inaugural lecture in a six-part speaker series focused on new growth opportunities and challenges in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. This event will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 1 at Roosevelt University's Schaumburg campus.
New norms now shape how we live, learn, work, and consume following years of limited access to the physical spaces where we once gathered, studied, shopped, and collaborated. While factories, malls, schools, universities, and houses of worship have reopened, virtual interaction remains a major part of daily life. These evolving norms bring both challenges and opportunities. In this opening session, Dean Brodowsky will introduce the themes of the upcoming lectures, which will explore topics including, but not limited to:
• The repurposing of physical spaces and resources
• Leveraging new technologies for small-scale manufacturing
• Rethinking the role of education in preparing us to change careers throughout our lives
• Examining what systems and business models thrived while others failed in the pandemic
• Preparing for future disruptive events
• Maintaining our mental health in adapting to our changing environment
The lecture series is open to all community members and will be especially valuable for those working in Schaumburg-area organizations; running or considering starting a small business; exploring a career change or reentering the workforce; or simply looking ahead after navigating the challenges of the pandemic.
Registration is free, and food and refreshments will be provided. For more information, please visit their website.
