About Us

Township High School District 211 entered the 1880s as a one-room high school with a handful of students from the Palatine farming community.Today, District 211 is the largest high school district in Illinois, with nearly 13,000 students. It serves over 250,000 culturally diverse residents of Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Palatine, Schaumburg, and portions of Arlington Heights, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, South Barrington, and Streamwood. The five nationally recognized District 211 high schools (James B. Conant, William Fremd, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, and Schaumburg High Schools) serve grades 9 through 12 and can each accommodate between 2,300 and 3,000 students. Additionally, two District 211 special education schools (Academy-North and LEAP) serve approximately 40 special needs students each.
